Several weeks ago at the scrimmage game, Charles Clay suffered a knee injury. Yesterday, we found out that he had his knee scoped earlier this offseason and had re-aggravated it during that game. With Clay unable to run, cut and put much weight on it, it's becoming more likely that he will miss a few weeks to begin the 2014 season.
“He’s day to day,” head coach Joe Philbin said. “The longer you’re out, the more of a period of getting acclimated back into football. I’d love to have him out here as soon as possible.”
The Dolphins don't have a ton of depth behind Clay so it will be important for him to get on the field as soon as possible. The team also may explore signing a veteran free agent to fill in any time that will be missed by Clay.
