![]() Written by Matthew Canata About a week after the Miami Dolphins were ranked 31st in the league by Pro Football Talk, Rotoworld has started to publish their rankings and Evan Silva has them ranked 19th in the league. Silva likes the direction that the Dolphins are going with on offense under new offensive coordinator Bill Lazor. He expects them to have a much more balanced offense that will be able to effectively get running back Lamar Miller into space and use wide receiver Mike Wallace to his strengths. While there are still many questions in regards to the offensive line and quarterback Ryan Tannehil, things should be much improved in 2014. In terms of defense, Silva again expects them to be the strength of the team but makes it a point to mention that they underachieved in 2013 under defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle. Silva is excited about the possibility of defensive end Olivier Vernon continuing his breakout status a year after earning 11.5 sacks. Silva believes that the unit should be much improved from last year but if it's not, it should be the end of the road for Coyle. A lot of people, including myself, were upset at Pro Football Talk's rankings. Calling the Dolphins the second worst team in the league is extremely laughable. Putting them 19th though is right about where they should be heading into the 2014 season. |
