The latest news and speculation regarding Joe Philbin's job status

There has been a lot of talk and speculation over the past several days regarding the job status of Joe Philbin. While nothing is definite and set in stone, there have been various reports as to what is likely to happen once the season is over.

Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald is reporting that players in the locker room and others within the organization believe that Philbin will be fired once the season is over. He says that even if Philbin finishes 9-7, the opinion remains the same - Philbin will not be retained.

Meanwhile, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports that it's possible that Philbin still retains his job at 9-7. The reason for this is because if Stephen Ross doesn't land Jim Harbaugh, he may decide that there are no other candidates are an upgrade over Philbin.

Andrew Abramson of the Palm Beach Post is reporting similar news, saying that there will be a lot of factors contributing to whether or not Ross keeps Philbin and a major part of it will be whether or not to make the sake for the sake of change.

Jason Cole of Bleacher Report is reporting that there's an 80% chance that Philbin is fired at the end of the season and barring a drastic change of heart from Ross and his advisors, Philbin will be gone at the end of the season.

In a nutshell, no one really knows what's going to happen. It's possible that Ross doesn't even know what's going to happen. It appears we are playing the waiting game and will need to see how the next two weeks play out before knowing for sure which way this is going to go.
