Jason Sarney - Lead Maniac/PodCaster
Picture
Jason Sarney has been following the Dolphins for over 30 years. A 1990 late-night study session with an old-school Encyclopedia on the eve of a football party is what started it all. A new kid in the town of Plainview, New York, Jason was brand new to the game of football and needed to learn the nuances of the sport to save utter embarrassment with his new schoolmates.

Luckily as destiny and fate would have it, Dan Marino was featured in the “Q” volume under “Quarterback,” and sitting in the young 9 year old’s closet ironically was an unopened #13 Aqua jersey from an Aunt down in Florida. From that day on, Orange Aquaman was unofficially born.

Through the next three decades with time in Jets country, as well as a four-year college run in Buffalo, Jason never wavered in his support of the Miami Dolphins. With games like the Thanksgiving Leon Lett game, Dan Marino’s Fake Spike and being the local Dolphins expert for cameos during Ace Ventura, Jason has always been, “That Dolphin Fan,” in his Northeastern upbringing.

Jason has been writing and covering sports since 1999. As a Sophomore at the University at Buffalo, Jason was the Sports Editor of the school’s main newspaper, covering football and basketball. Following graduating in 2003, Jason worked as a telecast reporter for the National Basketball Association, and later worked within the New York Mets ticket office. Currently in the professional world of real estate and finance recruiting, Jason has been operating www.phinmaniacs.com, after contributions to websites like www.profootballnetwork.com and www.thephinsider.com.

Jason brings his unique observations to the Dolphins community and has a multi-media portfolio of content for Dolphins and Football fans alike. In 2018, Jason took the deep dive into the Facebook world with his Orange Aquaman Page and took to the Twitter-verse before talking the reigns of www.Phinmaniacs.com in 2020.

Other than his love for the Miami Dolphins, Jason enjoys eating, breathing, and spending time with his wife Dori, children Brandon and Jordan and their dog Kosmo.

Hussam Patel - Scouting and Draft Manager / Writer/PodCaster

Just a 21-year-old kid who lives and breathes football. At the tender age of six Hussam was in love with Chris Chambers after watching his 238 yard game against the Buffalo Bills in 2005 and became a die-hard Fins fan since then. Wanting to become a WR himself, Hussam could not physically play due to him being a post liver transplant patient so he decided to learn about the X's and O’s and blew away his classmates and teachers during high school after talking over several chalk boards diagramming plays.

Currently an upcoming graduate at FIU and working in government contracting Hussam wants to delve into sports journalism and has an interest in the draft process, football analytics and scouting and enamored with Tua and believes the left arm of god will bring multiple Super Bowls to the dolphins franchise. Other than football, Hussam loves to cook and travel in his free time, usually not simultaneously.

Shawn Williams - Senior Writer/PodCaster
Picture
Shawn Williams has been a Dolphin die-hard his entire life.  Growing up and living in Rochester, NY did not make his fandom easier.  Despite enduring ridiculous phrases such as “no-one circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills” or hearing “the Bills make me want to shout” after every Bill touchdown at the stadium formerly known as “The Ralph” he annually made the trek through drunks and broken tables to attend Dolphins away games.  His belief in the aqua and orange has never wavered, standing strong through the Joe Philbin and Adam Gase eras.  Shawn is a big believer in Tua Tagovailoa, Brian Flores and the Greatest Cornerback in the NFL Xavien Howard.

No event is bigger than the three hours per week that he reserves for his team.  This was incredibly difficult during Shawn’s time in the Army and Iraq, luckily for him streams were just taking off!  Since the military Shawn has served in Hospitality Management and spends his free time with his Girlfriend and their two Siberian Huskies.  He loves finding ways to make the Dolphins better via the Madden Franchise Mode, reading and perusing Barnes and Noble and his local bookstores, and writing.  Shawn is also an avid golfer and outdoors-man (spending as much time as possible in the woods and mountains).

Shawn is excited to write as many articles as possible for his deserving fellow Dolphins cohorts, and is excited to begin his journey with PhinManiacs!

Ron Hiatt - Senior Writer - Player Profile Specialist

Ron was born a Dolphins fan. His dad was a big fan due to Don Shula and he remembers growing up in California right in the middle of Raiders nation. Just a kid during the perfect season and hearing his dad talk about Larry Czonka and calling him “the Diesel” before the media gave that tittle to John Riggins.

He never waiver in his fandom of the Dolphins and win or lose, he always proudly wore his colors to school.  He also had the joy of watching the Dolphins draft Dan Marino. In high School Ron finally got the field, himself playing RG and DT. His passion for the Dolphins has led him to writing and podcasting with PhinManiacs!

Anthony Marshall - Staff Writer

A die-hard Miami Dolphins fan since birth. Raised in Arizona as one of the few Dolphin fans, is now living in Michigan where he is a student athlete for Kellogg Community College. Growing up wanting to be the Quarterback of the Miami Dolphins until a couple of shoulder injuries converted him to a full-time basketball player in high school.

Currently going to school for a Sports Management degree, Anthony has always kept up with the Fins and hopes to one day do something with a sports management degree for one of his favorite teams!

When not going to school or busy with basketball Anthony is an avid golfer, podcast host, but most importantly always watching or reading about sports. Nothing brings more joy to him than sitting back watching the Miami Dolphins every Sunday afternoon win or lose. A firm believer Tua will bring Fin Nation back to the Marino days in the 305.
