![]() Written by Matthew Cannata | Twitter: @PhinManiacs Besides Joe Philbin being questioned by many about his decisions in the game against the Green Bay Packers, Bill Lazor also has been questioned about some of his decisions as well. On Monday, he opened up about what he could’ve done differently. “I think we’ve talked about this before, every game I’ve ever coached, there’s some that, knowing what you know now, you go back and wish you hadn’t called them. Very infrequently are there some where you said, ‘No, I didn’t do a good job on that call.’ My biggest disappointment was after the blocked punt where we didn’t score a touchdown. I thought it was a great decision by Coach (Joe Philbin) to go for it on fourth down. Probably as much as any coach I’ve ever worked for, he plans out every situation. We knew what to expect. As you saw later in the game when we got the ball on the five, we had better plays than the one I called the first time.” With the Dolphins riding a slippery slope at the current moment and with a tough opponent against the Chicago Bears coming on Sunday, chatter has increased surrounding the team and Lazor has not been immune to it. He said that he needs to work hard to tune it all out. “I have to work hard not to let it bother me. I choose, as you know, to be on the sideline during the game, so there are a lot of things that I have to learn how to block out. So that’s part of the job. That will never change. I could say what I think or what I don’t think about it. I’m not going to change any of that. Hopefully, as a staff, as a team, the players, everyone understands what matters is what we do and what we say in this building and on these practice fields. That’s my goal.” If the Dolphins lose on Sunday, the chatter will only get louder and the background noise about the coaching staff on their hot seats will only get hotter. We’ll see if the Dolphins can turn it around against the Bears. Comments are closed.
