![]() Written by Matthew Cannata It’s Bastille Day so in the NFL, that means it’s basically getting near the deadline to complete deals before players report to training camp. Out of 256 draft picks, 252 have been signed but four still remain unsigned. One of those four players include Dolphins offensive lineman Billy Turner. The other three are Cleveland Browns cornerback Justin Gilbert, Tennessee Titans offensive tackle Taylor Lewan and Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Marqise Lee. Gilbert and Lewan were drafted in the first round and Lee was drafted in the second. Turner, of course, was drafted in the third round. There really isn’t much of an excuse for a deal not getting done since under the current collective bargaining agreement, all of the rookie picks are slotted in terms of salary and the length of the contract. Here’s hoping that Turner is signed by next Thursday so he can report to training camp on time so he can get all of the repetitions that he needs in order to battle for the starting job.
