Miami has been in a big renovation mode this off-season involving players that make a living catching the football. Gone are Brian Hartline, Charles Clay, Brandon Gibson and last, but not least, Mike Wallace. Arriving is Kenny Stills, a young ultra-fast wide receiver. So what is Miami getting with Stills? In this article I take a look at some to get a feel for what we should expect. In summary, I have no idea what the Saints were thinking sending a player the level of Stills to Miami for a third round pick. It is obvious that he is extremely explosive in both the vertical and short game. He is young with several more seasons at a reasonable cap number as well so there must be something the Saints know that we don’t. Then again, they have Jeff Ireland :P
With that being said, I think the coaches need to work with him to improve catching the ball the away from his body. This will improve his catch radius and make him an even more dangerous player. The good news is this is something that can be improved significantly with repetition in practice. He looks like a young talented player with a huge ceiling to me. It will be exciting to watch him in action this season. This column was written by Chad Ronnebaum. Follow him on Twitter: @GoFins4SB
