![]() Written by Luis Sung | Twitter: @FLSportDebater After several years of patience, the patience has finally run out. Former third-round draft pick Michael Egnew has been cut from the Miami Dolphins. Hopes were high that Lazor's offense would bring Egnew back to his roots and allow him to become the receiving tight end he was in college, but during training camp he struggled to perform and was quickly overtaken by Dion Sims and even Brett Brackett who's shown a greater affinity than Egnew to be a weapon in the offense. Also today, defensive tackle Micajah Reynolds was waived and cornerback Jalil Brown was waived injured. Reynolds didn't impress that much and Jalil Brown has a tendency to get injured, but when healthy, like former Dolphin Dimitri Patterson, Brown is a solid corner and hopefully he'll be available should something go wrong. It would appear that Philbin is already starting to thin the herd before the dress rehearsal on Saturday, and maybe he and Dennis Hickey have someone in their sights that they're creating roster spots for.
