![]() Written by Matthew Cannata | Twitter: @PhinManiacs If you’re a stats kind of person without looking at the whole picture, then you would assume that 7 tackles, 2 sacks and 2 forced fumbles in four games is pretty good but not elite, especially since most of those stats came in one week. For Cameron Wake though, those are his stats but he has made a much bigger impact in other ways such as disrupting the pocket, drawing double teams and more. However, his bigggest impact might be off the field and that’s one of the reasons why Joe Philbin loves him. “I think it’s great. I think it’s fantastic. I think if something comes from one of their peers, it’s better than listening to me give a lecture for 20 minutes on being a professional or showing up early or displaying persistence in your profession. Like I said, if somebody from their own locker room has done that in their own lifetime, battle adversity, overcome some things. I think it’s a great message and I think Cam does a great job communicating those kind of things. He’s a pro. Definitely a professional. He does set a great example for the other guys, no doubt.” Wake is such a tremendous player that you can’t simply look at his stats to be aware of how much an impact he makes on a football team. He is one of the best defensive lineman on the field but off the field, he’s an even better person and that’s something that’s not easy to say in the NFL. Comments are closed.
