![]() Written by Matthew Cannata | Twitter: @PhinManiacs After aggravating a prior knee injury during the scrimmage game several weeks ago, Charles Clay has been sidelined and has not seen much action on the practice or game field. On Monday, Clay returned to practice in limited action. Nonetheless, it was a step in the right direction and Clay says that it felt good to be back out there. “It’s a good feeling,” Clay said. “Anytime you miss time, you kind of want to be out there working with your guys getting better. They’ve been doing a good job working hard and they had a good win this past weekend. I’m just trying to come back and knock a little rust off and get going.” Despite not being on the field for the past several weeks, Clay said that he’s been taking mental reps and doesn’t expect to take long to get into the swing of things once he gets back out there and participates at 100 percent. “They’re still installing things and stuff like that and having certain looks and making adjustments,” Clay said. “Me not being able to practice the time I did, it’s only right that I get those mental reps and if they happen in a game, I’ll be ready. I’m up to speed. I did a lot of studying during the time, watched a lot of film. I’m just working on getting better every day.” Clay will look to continue the success he found during the 2013 season and be that nightmare matchup for opposing defenses.
