Earlier this offseason, Charles Clay got his right knee scoped. This knee was the same one that was operated on at the end of the 2012 season. During the Dolphins scrimmage game almost two weeks ago, he re-aggravated the injury.
As a result, it is not known if he will play during preseason but I would guess that he won't. This is because he hasn't even started participating in rehab assignments during practice. While he did try running a few days ago with a brace, he quickly stopped and that was it for him.
The tight end position, which many saw as one that had depth before training camp began, suddenly seems very thin after lackluster showings and/or injuries by everyone not named Dion Sims. Let's hope that Clay gets back on the field as soon as possible and is fully healed.
