![]() Posted by Matthew Cannata | Twitter: @PhinManiacs The week of preparations and press conferences for the Denver Broncos is finally over and kickoff is only a short while away. Here are quotes from Joe Philbin and Ryan Tannehill that didn't make it into our stories this week. Joe Philbin (On TE Charles Clay and his health in terms of appearing to be more active recently)– “Yeah, he’s been progressing well and practicing well. We are just trying to be intelligent and smart in how we utilize him. Not unlike a lot of different players, sometimes different players have different practice loads. He’s been doing a good job.” (On what RB Lamar Miller has done this year to contribute to his high yards-per-carry average)– “Recently, you are seeing him, and I think the other day was a great example of breaking a tackle and I’m going to say it was 42-yards or a 40-yard run. I think he made that move at six or eight yards maybe where he made the guy miss. That’s 35 yards on your own basically. Again, you are not expecting that every single time a guy carries the ball, but I think one of the things we’ve stressed with him is when we are able to get him in space on a (defensive back) one-on-one, we would like to see him make some guys miss. I think that’s starting to show up on tape a little bit more.” Ryan Tannehill (On what is going through his mind in the red zone) – “Score. That’s hasn’t changed. We still want to get into the end zone especially when you play a good team like the Denver Broncos. We have to take advantage of the times we do get the ball down in the red zone and end up with touchdowns.” (On what the issue is for the offense in the red zone) – “Like (Coach Philbin) said, I think it’s several different things. It’s never one thing. Sometimes it is a penalty. Sometimes it is a missed throw. Sometimes it is a missed block. It’s not one consistent thing throughout the game. We just have to put it together as an offense and finish those drives.”
