![]() Written by Matthew Cannata | Twitter: @PhinManiacs The Miami Dolphins have four days off and will return back on Monday. It's time to clear out the notebook from Joe Philbin's and Ryan Tannehill's recent press conferences. They talked about Mike Pouncey, Derrick Shelby, their plans for the bye week and more! Joe Philbin on having Mike Pouncey back at practice: “He’s doing a little bit more each and every day. He looked good today. He seems to be moving around well. Again, I think the bye (week) comes at the right time for a variety of reasons. We’ll just keep working with him and take it one day at a time too.” Ryan Tannehill on how he plans to spend the bye week: “Hang out and just relax. Let the body recover a little bit. We have a big stretch coming up, want to go into fully recovered and rested. Start preparing for the Packers.I can’t [disconnect from football] do it completely, not in the season. There are some times in the offseason where I can get completely away. But it’s tough, it’s tough midseason. With everything that’s going on, the big stretch that we have coming up. I’m sure I’ll do some preparation and probably watch games, watch college football on Saturday and watch the pro games on Sunday, so I’m never completely away from it.” Joe Philbin on Derrick Shelby and why he can play both inside and outside: “He’s a smart football player. I think I’ve said that about him before. He’s good fundamentally. He understands the techniques that we want to use. He practices them. He transfers them to the game on a consistent basis. He’s got some flexibility, position flexibility. I don’t know if we want to play him inside 50 plays a game necessarily, but he certainly can function in there.” Ryan Tannehill on how he views games with elite quarterbacks as his opponent: “No. Teams. That’s how I look at it is teams. Obviously, I have respect for those guys, but it’s not like I have a list back in the QB (quarterback) room or anything like that.” Ryan Tannehill on if he sees other quarterbacks in the division struggling: "I honestly didn’t know that there was any noise. I don’t read stuff or really watch too much sports TV. So I didn’t know that there was noise going on with the other teams. It’s probably the game. This game is scrutinized to a level it’s never been before, social media, all of the media coverage in general. I think the scrutiny and the coverage of the game is at an all-time high. It’s part of the game. It’s part of the job description and you have to be able to handle it.” Ryan Tannehill on how excited he was to play in London: “The opportunity to go out and play well. I think, as a team, we were kind of frustrated with how we were playing the previous two weeks knowing we were a better team than that, knowing that we weren’t playing up to our potential. We had a huge opportunity to travel across the ocean and play well, and we were able to do that.”
