![]() Written by Matthew Cannata | Twitter: @PhinManiacs In his last press conference before the coaches and players took a mini-vacation, Joe Philbin had plenty of interesting and insightful things to say. We covered much of that in our posts earlier but here’s the rest of the quotes from Philbin that didn’t make it into stories. On the way the Miami Dolphins practiced on Wednesday: “I thought today we kind of had an introductory practice on Green Bay. Our guys are off until Monday morning at 7:30 (a.m.) and certainly we have been working hard at it since July 24. So it’s important for them to get away a little bit and come back refreshed and ready to go.” On Daryn Colledge and how he has progressed and grown since Green Bay: “Not a whole lot. He’s very professional. I remember interviewing him at the Combine. I spent a lot of time with him there. I was the offensive line coach (for the Green Bay Packers) at that point in time, so I knew we were going to be drafting somebody that potentially could have to play. He was a left tackle coming out. He’s a pro. I don’t think he’s missed a game, I could be wrong. I don’t think he’s missed a practice since he’s been here. He just shows up every day early. He puts his helmet on, buckles his chin strap, goes to work. He’s a good family man. He’s a professional guy.” On Dion Sims and his progress and how he can get more involved in the offense: “I want to say, but don’t necessarily quote me, but in the Oakland game, I thought we had seven or maybe even eight receivers that had an explosive gain in the game. In my mind, that’s a great thing. The down side of that is it means probably some guys aren’t getting quite as many. Dion’s just gradually gotten better. I don’t know that there’s any one moment in time that said, ‘Wow, he’s really arrived or anything like that.’ I think he’s clearly made progress between year one and two. I think he has a chance to get even better.” Comments are closed.
