With the Dolphins set for a controlled scrimmage tomorrow at Sun Life Stadium, the coaching staff toned down practice a bit and gave many veterans either a very light workload or the day off completely.
Heading into tomorrow's scrimmage, head coach Joe Philbin said they will try to simulate game situations whenever possible but will also incorporate key situations such as the red zone offense, goal-line situations and more.
“We’d like to see as many situations as we can before flying to Atlanta to face the Falcons,” Philbin said of the exhibition opener Aug. 8.
Simulating game day will include going through the normal pre-game routine. Assistant coaches who normally are in the pressbox during games will be upstairs, communicating with players and other coaches via headsets.
