![]() Written by Luis Sung | Twitter: @FLSportDebater Earlier today, Jason Cole of the Bleacher Report gave a report stating that Special Adviser Dan Marino was "unimpressed" with how head coach Joe Philbin was handling the situation regarding quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Now, per Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, Marino issued a statement refuting that report. "This whole thing with the thing [Bleacher Report] said, there's not once in this whole situation where Mr. Ross has asked me, 'Hey you have to sit down and evaluate Joe Philbin or Ryan Tannehill,'" Marino said by phone. "My whole thing from the beginning has been to support on the football side, be excited about being back in the organization and as far as the community stuff, working on the sponsorship side -- things like going over to meet with some of the sponsors in London. And that's really it. I don't know where [Bleacher Report] got this information." The report also states that Marino has not ever been involved in the development of Tannehill as a quarterback, they've merely had dinner together one time and that was pretty much it. "That's not my role," Marino said. "I'm going to be around and be supportive. I'm just happy to be back and be part of the organization. But none of that other stuff." Many fans were hoping that Marino was actually looking into the behind-the-scenes situation between Philbin and Tannehill, but this report makes it crystal clear that that is not his job, nor is it likely to be anytime in the near or distant future. Whether that's a good or bad thing, is entirely up to whoever reads the report.
