![]() Written by Matthew Cannata | Twitter: @PhinManiacs Yes, you read that right. Daniel Thomas does in fact have the skills to contribute to the Miami Dolphins. If we’re being honest with each other, the argument could be made that Thomas looks like a different player than he was before the team released him during final cuts. He seems to be running faster, has better vision and doesn’t seem to be a liability on the field. Joe Philbin sees this as well and echoed those sentiments. “He’s had good opportunities and a couple of times the offensive line did a real nice job. We showed the whole team one particular play from the game the other night where he had a real nice run. Branden Albert had a really good block, (Brian) Hartline had a really good block (on that play). But I think he’s taken advantage of the opportunities he’s had and done a good job.” In addition to Thomas, the Dolphins recently added LaMichael James to the team. While he’s on the practice squad right now, Philbin wants to see what they have him in and a promotion to the active roster could be coming sooner rather than later. “He’s got a lot of skill. He’s a talented guy. He’s got good ball skills, he’s got speed. We just got him out there today. We’ll have a chance to work with him a little bit and see what comes of it, but yeah, we like his athleticism, his playmaking ability, he’s got hands and he can run. We’ll take a look at him.” Both players should have plenty of opportunities with Knowshon Moreno out at least another three – four weeks. With Thomas’ spot on the active roster seemingly secure, James will have to work as hard as he can to get himself on the field on Sundays. Comments are closed.
