A few days ago, we talked about how offensive coordinator Bill Lazor was experimenting with coaching on the sideline vs. coaching from the booth during games. Now, defensive coordinator is experimenting with the same thing and won't make a decision until after the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Friday.
Head coach Joe Philbin said that he doesn't have a preference where either of them coach from, as long as they are comfortable and confident.
“I thought things went very smoothly on the field last week with Bill and Kevin down, but I think it’s good for us to experiment in the preseason,” Philbin said. “Ultimately, they are the ones calling the plays. They have to be comfortable. So I don’t have a strong preference. I want them to feel confident, comfortable wherever they may be.”
