Dennis Hickey, General Manager of the Miami Dolphins, revealed when speaking with the media during a Fins Weekend charity event that Pro Bowl tackle and Dolphins offensive line standout last year Branden Albert is on pace to be the week one starter at left tackle next season.
“He’s working extremely hard and doing a great job,” Hickey told the gathered media. “We want to be measured and stick to our plan. It’s an extensive rehab, but it’s going well and he’s on track for the opening game.”
This is very welcomed news. Albert was on pace to have a monumental first year with the Dolphins before his untimely injury came in week 10 vs the Lions. After suffering ACL and MCL tears, the road to recovery has been an uphill climb. Albert has trained vigorously, much of it is documented on the athlete's Instagram page.
Branden Albert is seen taking boxing courses and doing very well weight training. He shows off pushing weights and putting pressure on his knees. He's also visibly slimmer and sleek. I doubt he makes an appearance in the preseason but I wouldn't bet against Branden to be there week one ready for the competition.
