![]() Written by Matthew Cannata | Twitter: @PhinManiacs After the Miami Dolphins blocked the Green Bay Packers’ punt early in the first half, their offense wasn’t able to punch the ball in the end zone despite being around the five-yard line. On four straight plays, the Dolphins tried to get it in but couldn’t muster enough to make it happen. Joe Philbin said though that this was the plan all along and was decided on early in the week. “That’s something that we decided early on. We talked about it as a staff and I told Bill [Lazor] if it’s fourth-and-one or inside the one we’re going to go for it, period. No hesitation. There wasn’t any thought process. That was early in the first half. If it was in the second half, we might have done something differently. Again, that was something that was discussed in the staff meeting. Nobody was surprised.” I think everyone agrees that the Dolphins made the right call by going for it on fourth down but looking back, it was the three point difference in the Dolphins losing this game. Had they kicked the field goal, there’s a good chance this game would’ve went into overtime. Comments are closed.
