![]() Written by Luis Sung | Twitter: @FLSportDebater Before the season ever started, the Miami Dolphins found out that defensive end Dion Jordan would be suspended four games for violating the NFL's PED policy. That suspension has since been lifted, however, now we have learned that the former third-overall draft pick has been suspended another four games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. Jordan's original suspension was going to be lifted thanks to the new agreement between the NFL and NFLPA, but apparently sometime during his suspension, Jordan took something else he wasn't supposed to, something that forced the NFL to suspend Jordan for another four games and would leave him off the team until Oct. 20th against the Chicago Bears. “I am currently undergoing treatment to address my situation." said Jordan. "I am working hard to become a better man and to make better choices in the future. I am especially looking forward to returning to the team. I also want to thank my family, Coach Philbin and the Miami Dolphins organization for their support.” Head coach Joe Philbin also came out and expressed his disappointment, while also voicing his support for the young pass-rusher. “We were informed that Dion’s suspension for performance enhancing drugs was lifted, however, we also learned that he has been suspended four games for violating the Policy on Performance-Enhancing Substances. While we were disappointed to learn of this result, we support Dion for proactively taking steps to voluntarily seek treatment to better himself. We will continue to support and work with him as he takes advantage of all available resources during this time.” Jordan has a lot of talent, he can cover tight ends when called upon and he has the ability to get to the quarterback and disrupt the opposition whenever he's on the field. So seeing Jordan get suspended for something like this is extremely disappointing. We all support Jordan in his recovery, but the team will have to make due until this new suspension runs out.
