Coming into tonight’s game, the Dolphins were already without Caleb Sturgis, who has been battling a groin injury. Now, John Potter, the player they signed to cover for Sturgis, is out indefinitely after injuring himself while connecting on a 26-yard field goal in the first half.
Immediately after the kick, he went to the locker room and punter Brandon Fields took over kickoff duties. Fortunately, for Fields and the team, they didn’t need to attempt any field goal attempts. Potter had been on a role as of late and had a legitimate chance to make the roster. Now, with the hip injury, that opportunity looks to be in doubt.
