During the mini-camps, voluntary workouts and preseason, there weren’t many injuries for the Miami Dolphins. Sure, a few knicks and bruises here and there but nothing too serious. Then, all of a sudden, injuries started piling up left and right and the team resembled a MASH unit. With a much needed bye week though, three players are set to return to the lineup, with Reshad Jones coming back from a suspension.
The other two are Mike Pouncey and Koa Misi, two integral pieces to their respective units on offense and defense. Joe Philbin is excited to get all three of them back and figures they’ll play a big role in the game against the Green Bay Packers.
"You always want, again, like I say all the time, you want to figure out who are the 46 best guys that give you the best chance to win. Those three guys have played a lot of football since I’ve been here. They’re good football players, they’re good people. We’ll take it one day at a time and see where that leads.”
As far as Pouncey goes, who underwent surgery several months ago, Philbin said he’s looking good and looks ready to go.
“He looks good. He’s moving well. He’s very good with the system. He’s picked the system up. Not that he didn’t know it, he’s been in the meetings, obviously. So far he looks good.”
The return of these three players should provide a spark to the team and could give them an advantage against the Green Bay Packers when they come to Miami on October 12.
