Earlier this morning, Ian Wharton of Bleacher Report broke some interesting tidbits on Twitter regarding the Miami Dolphins running back situation. Specifically, Wharton said that there's hope within the Dolphins' front office that Orleans Darkwa will continue his play, as it would allow the team to move Daniel Thomas
Wharton had thoughts that Marcus Thigpen would be the odd man out but since Darkwa was specifically mentioned to him by a source, he now believes that it's Thomas with the bullseye on his back. As far as trade value goes, he doesn't believe there is much value but with injuries mounting up during camp (especially in San Francisco), there could be something in terms of conditional pick. Of course, this also depends on how Knowhown Moreno does in his recovery from his knee scope.
It will be an interesting situation to keep an eye on as we move forward over the next few weeks. Thomas hasn't lived up to his expectations after being drafted in the second round in the 2011 NFL Draft and as a result, his time in Miami may be coming to an end soon.
