![]() Miami Dolphins Press Release The Miami Dolphins recently launched their new official mobile application that engages fans on a 12-month basis. The app integrates and extends the organization's Membership platform while showcasing comprehensive analysis of the team through enhanced video, audio and articles. Users can stream video and audio uploaded from Dolphins.com, as well as share articles and photos through text, email, Twitter and Facebook. The app, designed in collaboration with eMbience, is available for free on iTunes and Google Play. South Florida Ford is the presenting sponsor of the team app. "Our new app is a strategic platform on how we engage our fans on a 12-month basis and how they interact with us inside and outside of the stadium," said Miami Dolphins Senior Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer Jeremy Walls. "We're proud to offer our Membership exclusive content built within an app, customized to explore and deepen their experience with the organization." The Dolphins are the first NFL team to fully integrate Beacon technology within an app, which allows users to receive location-based notifications to augment their game day experience within Sun Life Stadium. Beacon technology, developed through a partnership with Gimbal, can alert the user if a concession line is shorter at another location, direct a fan to their seat from the entrance of the stadium and locate the closest new food and beverage options. Whereas geofence technology can identify fans within a building or region, Gimbal’s Beacon technology locates fans in close proximity to their location – increasing the accuracy of location-based notifications for fan amenities. The app features several sections, including tabs for Membership, News, Team, Cheerleaders, Schedule, Standings, Game Day, Sun Life Stadium, Directions, Feedback and a My Collection tab for users to store proximity-based content, promotions and information for later reference. A prominent feature of the app is a section dedicated to Membership – where Members can manage their tickets, view and RSVP to upcoming calendar events and find locations for their dining discounts throughout South Florida. An added feature of the app is the Feedback tab, a function that allows users to answer simple questions on their game day. This information will be used by the Dolphins to enhance the fans’ experience. The Dolphins app in coming phases will feature a Video Vault, stocked full of archived team footage.
