The Dolphins will have the national stage to themselves when they face the New York Jets in London, England, next season. The National Football League announced Saturday the kickoff time for the Oct. 4 game at Wembley Stadium and it will be 2:30 p.m. local time or 9:30 a.m. Eastern time.
The first and only previous International Series game to be staged as an early afternoon kickoff in the UK was when the Atlanta Falcons hosted the Detroit Lions on October 26, 2014. The Dolphins’ first two regular season games in London both kicked off at 1 p.m. Eastern time or 6 p.m. local time. The Dolphins beat the Oakland Raiders, 38-14, in London this past season and also were part of the first-ever regular season game in Europe when they dropped a 17-7 decision game against the New York Giants in 2007. The rest of the Dolphins’ 2015 schedule, with dates and times, will be announced at a later time. The NFL also announced Saturday the starting time for another of the three London games in 2015, the Buffalo-Jacksonville matchup Oct. 25. That game also will start at 9:30 a.m. ET. Kickoff time for the London game between the Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs on Nov. 1 will be announced at a later date. This story comes courtesy of MiamiDolphins.com
