The Miami Dolphins have two kickers on their roster - Caleb Sturgis and John Potter - and both of them are injured. Because of that, the team is set to sign Jake Rogers, who was undrafted out of Cincinnati in 2011.
Rogers, who has never kicked in a NFL game, was most recently in camp with Cleveland earlier this year. He’s been to camp with Washington, Dallas, Tampa Bay, and the New York Giants after being signed by New Orleans out of college.
Potter sustained a hip injury after kicking a 26-yard field goal in the first quarter of Saturday’s 25-20 victory over Dallas. Sturgis has been battling a groin issue all of training camp. The status of each player is not known at this time.
