The Miami Dolphins will face a tough decision when it comes to deciding what to do with their backup quarterback position. Although Ryan Tannehill hasn't missed a single game in his three-year career, we all know that an injury is only one hit away and it can come at any time. In a world where the quarterback play is crucial to a team's success, it's important that the Dolphins make the right decision when deciding who the number two quarterback should be heading into the 2015 season. The team has several options - re-sign Matt Moore and pay him an above market price, draft a quarterback in the middle rounds and hope that nothing happens to Tannehill this season or they can sign a veteran in free agency for below or at market value. While Moore would require an expensive price tag for a backup quarterback, he is arguably one of the best backups in the entire NFL. We asked our followers on Twitter this afternoon what they thought the team should do. As expected, the reaction was mixed. Here are some tweets who were in favor of re-signing Moore but only if he didn't come with an expensive price tag.
There were a few others who have seen enough of Moore and would like the team to go in a different direction, whether it's through free agency or the draft.
We'll see how things play out over the next several weeks. If the Dolphins don't re-sign Moore, I would expect them to sign a veteran in free agency and perhaps develop a rookie as the third string on the practice squad.
