![]() The Fullback Dive - Written by Benjamin Meyer With the 234th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins drafted DE Terrence Fede from Marist College. And just like that, without participating in a practice or playing a single snap in an NFL game, Terrence Fede found himself in the NFL record books. By being selected with the Dolphins’ 7th round pick, Fede became the first Marist College football player to be drafted by an NFL team. So while Fede will forever have a place in NFL draft history, all Dolphins fans will (and should) care about is if he’ll ever have a place on the Dolphins’ 53-man roster. To evaluate his potential contributions to the Dolphins, let’s start by taking you back to his playing days in Poughkeepsie, NY, home of Marist College. After playing four years (three as a starter) with the Marist College Red Foxes, Fede finished his college career with impressive statistics, amassing 30.5 sacks and 46.5 tackles for loss. By the time his college playing days were over, he had racked up his fair share of team and league accolades. He broke the Marist College program record for sacks in a season and in a career, as well as became the first Marist player to win a major award from the Pioneer Football League (PFL), the FCS conference Marist belongs to, as PFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2013.
