![]() Written by Luis Sung | Twitter: @FLSportDebater At 366 pounds, former Dolphins quarterback Scott Mitchell is going to be a contestant on the well-known weight loss-oriented television show "The Biggest Loser", and he has a very good reason for doing so. Mitchell watched his father die earlier this year due to obesity-related issues, and he realized that he might wind up going down the same path if he didn't make a change, and soon. At 46 years of age and 366 pounds, Mitchell also suffers from sleep apnea and high blood pressure, further motivating him to lose the weight. What might be the most important reason of all though is the fact that he has five children, ranging from ages eleven to twenty-one, and he wants to be there for his kids in the distant future, and he's ready to embrace a healthy lifestyle in order to make sure he can do just that. Mitchell did well in the Dan Marino's absence and most Dolphins fans are probably grateful to him for holding down the fort, now Dolphins fans will hopefully support Mitchell in his mission to get back into shape so he can be there for his family. He may have been a good QB in the past, but he's still a regular guy, with hopes and dreams and a family to love, and we as Dolphins fans owe him our support.
