The Miami Dolphins have already begun to churn the bottom of the roster and will continue to do so throughout the next several months. On Tuesday, the team signed defensive end Gerald Rivers to their practice squad and released D’Aundre Reed, who is also a defensive lineman.
Rivers, who is 24, played for the St. Louis Rams and Jacksonville Jaguars last season. He contributed one tackle during the two games he played for the Rams. He spent first 15 weeks with St. Louis after earning a roster spot as a rookie free agent, then got claimed by the Jaguars. In college he played in 27 games with 10 starts.
