The Miami Dolphins handed out team awards for the 2013 season the other day and four players earned the prestigious awards.
Cornerback Brent Grimes was named the Dan Marino Most Valuable Player. Defensive end Cameron Wake was named winner of the Don Shula Leadership Award, while long-snapper John Denney and punter Brandon Fields shared the Nat Moore Community Service Award.
In 2013, Grimes led the team with four interceptions and earned a spot in the Pro Bowl. Fields has won the award three consecutive years and continues to make an impact in the community.
All I can say is that it’s awesome,” Grimes said after practice Sunday. “To be honored with such a title is a big deal.”
