An undrafted rookie free agent, Chris McCain had no idea what it was like to play in an NFL game. If he had butterflies before the game and was nervous, no one would’ve blamed him. Based on his performance though, it was apparent that the moment wasn’t too big for him. That’s because just a few minutes in to the game, McCain rushed through the line and blocked a punt, which set up great field position for a touchdown. Later in the game, he sacked Brady and it came at a key moment in the game.
“It feels good. It feels good, man. Coaches just called some great calls out there. We kept our poise no matter what happened. We kept our poise,” McCain said. “We started off really strong. Man, it just, this is just a blessing. I just feel really good about being here. God will be glory. Just excited and I’m looking forward to the next fifteen (15) games.”
With injuries suffered by Philip Wheeler, Koa Misi and Dannell Ellerbe, McCain figures to see a lot more playing time in the coming weeks and will look to further establish himself in the NFL.
