![]() Written by Matthew Cannata | Twitter: @PhinManiacs Jarvis Landry got his chance to be in the starting lineup as the third wide receiver after Brandon Gibson couldn’t play due to an injury. Now, he may never look back as he had a great day, racking up 75 yards on 6 receptions, including one amazing touchdown catch. Landry averaged 12.5 yards per reception and his longest one of the day was 21 yards. “It’s something we prepared for and game-planned on them being in zero coverage all weekend came up,” Landry said while describing his touchdown catch. “[QB Ryan] Tannehill made the throw, the line made the block, we know it was quick and he made the play. It was exciting to make a play for the team and to help swing the momentum around, but it was just not enough.” Landry also had a great day on special teams, returning two of them for a combined total of 91 yards, averaging 45.5 yards per return. His longest was 54 yards and on both of them, he only needed to break one more tackler to score a touchdown. He believes that time is coming soon though. “It’s just going to take constant work, making the plays when they come and eventually we are going to get past that kicker.” As well as Landry played though and as much of an impact he made on the fans, players, commentators and coaches, he wasn’t happy because in the end, the Dolphins lost. “I think what helped us a lot was just the weather and the ability to run, continue to run and just keep them on their heels constantly. It wasn’t enough. It means nothing with a loss, as far as my performance goes.” Comments are closed.
