![]() Written by Matthew Cannata | Twitter: @PhinManiacs Ryan Tannehill threw two interceptions yesterday and missed several open wide receivers after not going through his progressions but on Monday, Joe Philbin and Bill Lazor weren’t throwing him under the bus for his miscues throughout the game. “I typically try not to stand up here and critique the players’ individual performances,” Lazor said. Everyone knows that those were disappointing plays by Ryan. He would be the first one to tell you. The first thing I always do is I look at, ‘Did I put him in a good position?’ Sometimes I don’t and he’s got to help make it better. I don’t think those same errors will happen again because I know Ryan. It won’t happen again.” After watching the film, you will notice that Tannehill stared down his receivers on both interceptions but Lazor said that he didn’t think there was anything similar between the two plays. “I looked at them as two separate plays, so I don’t think there is anything common to it. I would probably disagree with you.” While Philbin stopped short of saying he wants Tannehill to go through more progressions, he did say that Tannehill needs to continue to work hard to improve each week and learn from his mistakes. “I can’t sit here and say, you always want decision making as the first. I always talk about the quarterbacks, I talk about decision making, I talk about accuracy, I talk about making plays. Those three things I’ve said since day one with the quarterback position here. I’m certain that that’s an illustration we have to do better. We have to do better right there Again, I’m confident he’ll make the corrections and improve.” Comments are closed.
