![]() Written by Matthew Cannata | Twitter: @PhinManiacs After Joe Philbin was stubborn earlier this week by refusing to name a starting quarterback, Ryan Tannehill came out in his Wednesday press conference and told the media that he was bothered by the way Philbin handled the situation and he called it a distraction. This, despite the fact that Philbin had spoken with Tannehill on Monday and explained his reasoning and informed him that he was the starting quarterback. Now, Philbin is upset with Tannehill and the rift could continue to grow even bigger as the season goes on. According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, several people told him that Tannehill is becoming to grow weary of Philbin in the same way he did to Mike Sherman. This is not good. To continue to pile it on, Salguero reports that Philbin was left shaking his head at how Tannehill reacted publicly to his approach. Philbin was confident that Tannehill was OK with his decision and method to handle the quarterback situation this way because Tannehill hadn't expressed any concerns in their meeting on Monday. Philbin, according to Salguero, would've much rather preferred that Tannehill speak to him privately about those matters instead of making it part of the media. All of this is ironic because Philbin is the one who created the distractions and controversy himself. Instead, it seems that he is putting the blame on others. We'll see how this team plays today but it's starting to not look good.
