Since undergoing minor knee surgery a few months ago, Knowshon Moreno has been slowly working his way back into shape and form. On Wednesday, the team took him off the Physically Unable to Perform List and moved him to the 53-man roster.
“It feels good to put the pads on and work with the guys,” Moreno said after practice. “Today was testing it out and seeing how it feels. I feel good. What I did today I felt pretty good doing it. Now the next couple of days I'll just progress and do more and more each day. I’m good with the playbook. It’s just going out there seeing it full speed versus the defense. But I feel pretty comfortable about the playbook.”
While Moreno won't see any action on Friday, he said he is always taking mental reps and will be ready for the start of the season. Head Coach Joe Philbin doesn't want to rush him back, especially after having only one practice under his belt.
“The main thing is to be ready for the season,” Moreno said. “Right now I feel good. It would be good to go out there and feel full-speed action. At the same time I’ll be ready whenever it’s ready. I’m going to do whatever I can do, anything to help this team. I’m going to do every play, every practice, every game 100 percent the best I can do. Whatever happens after that will.”
