![]() Written by Matthew Cannata Pete Bommarito, owner of Performance Systems in Davie and Miami, has been helping quite a number of NFL players prepare for the 2014 season. That, along with assisting athletes to maximize their physical talents, has been his goal since his company opened in 2004. Players that attend his facility include those such as Frank Gore from the San Francisco 49ers. Another one is Wes Welker, former member of the Dolphins and New England Patriots but now with the Denver Broncos. Two current Dolphins players – Lamar Miller and Olivier Vernon – are also in attendance on a daily basis. "We do a combination of everything," said Bommarito, whose company has trained more than 700 NFL players. "We like to think of ourselves as the one-stop shop for everything any athlete will need at any level." With about 75 employees at both locations, BPS helps athletes with training in footwork, strength endurance, power and agility movement. The center also offers nutritional guidance from a private chef, massage therapy, Pilates and even MMA training.
