The Miami Dolphins held a pre-draft visit with Michigan linebacker Jake Ryan. This news comes courtesy of James Walker of ESPN. Last season, Ryan had 112 tackles with 2 sacks. 14 of the 112 tackles were behind the line of scrimmage for a loss of yards. According to Gabriel Burns (Twitter: @SoHotItGBURNS), an analyst for the PhinManiacs Draft Guide, Ryan is a very physical linebacker with NFL size. He is a good wrap-up tackler and loves to hit. With 45.5 career tackles for loss, Ryan was able to consistently get into the backfield. Ryan is one of the better coverage guys available in his projected draft range. He is able to play inside or outside linebacker. His weaknesses include his lack of football smarts, his over-pursuit at times and the fact that he takes poor angles, which will hurt him at the NFL level. Ryan is projected to go in the middle rounds and Burns says the ideal draft round for him is the late fourth or early fifth. This story was written by Matthew Cannata.
