![]() Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Mike Pouncey is entering the final year of his contract but the team is planning to begin working on a long-term extension that will keep Pouncey on the team for the next several years. This report comes courtesy of Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald. After battling a hip injury and recovering from surgery, Pouncey joined the team halfway through the season. However, he didn't return to the center position. Due to deficiencies at the guard position, he voluntarily moved to right guard while Samson Satele manned the center spot. "You’re always looking for guys that want to contribute and are unselfish. This is a team game. As a coach, you always want guys that are ready to answer the bell and do it whatever they can to help their team win," Joe Philbin said at the time when the move was made official. While the results were underwhelming, the Dolphins didn't have much of a choice but to continue with it because there were no better options. Don't mistake that though for Pouncey wanting to stay there full time as he has already said that he will be moving back to center for 2015. The Dolphins love Pouncey and he loves playing for them. He is an integral part of the offensive line and he will be rewarded this off-season for his team-first mentality along with his versatility on the line. This story was written by Matthew Cannata.
