The Miami Dolphins met with Lousiville safety Gerod Holliman as part of their pre-draft process. This news comes courtesy of Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.
According to Jeff Hyde (Twitter: @Jeff__Hyde), analyst for the PhinManiacs Draft Guide, Holliman is very active when he’s on the field. He’s constantly changing his depth, always moving around and does a great job of ‘baiting’ quarterbacks. He will be a reliable single high free safety at the next level, but can also come up and stuff the run inside the box. Holliman is a big hitter with the ability to knock some balls loose as well. His weaknesses include the poor angles he takes when approaching running backs, the lack of fundamentals when tackling and his inconsistency in bringing down the ball carrier throughout the game.
Overall, Hyde believes that Holliman is worthy of a second round draft pick, but due to his tape, which many scouts call bad, he is projected to go in the fourth or fifth round of the draft.
