![]() Written by Matthew Cannata The Miami Dolphins will partner with Head -Up Football when they host their inaugural Mom’s Clinic on Friday, July 18 from 6:30 – 9:00 PM at the Doctors Hospital Training Facility in Davie, Florida. The clinic, which is only open to moms, will teach them how to keep their kids safe playing football. Coaches and athletic trainers will teach about heat and hydration, concussion awareness, equipment fitting and conclude with interactive drills that show proper Heads Up Football tackling techniques. These drills will be performed on the field and led by former Miami Dolphins Tight End and Heads Up Football Master Trainer Troy Drayton as well as High School Football coach and Master Trainer Chris Merritt. With all of the talk these days about injuries and the game of football, it’s good that the NFL is working with those who matter most when decisions are made for these kids at an early age – the moms in the household. "It's important for us to talk about the rewards of playing the game of football," commissioner Goodell said. "It's important for us to get the right information to moms and to families that are making the decisions - and to encourage our kids to play sports."
