Miami Dolphins Press Release -- The Miami Dolphins and Susan G. Komen visited Oncology patients at Baptist Health South Florida’s South Miami Hospital. CB Cortland Finnegan, CB Jamar Taylor, T Jason Fox, C Sam Brenner and QB Seth Lobato, four members of the Miami Dolphins Women’s Organization along with Cheerleaders and T.D. visited the patients.
Brenner shared the impact the experience had on him, saying, “My mother is a three-time cancer survivor and my family has been affected by cancer. So when I saw we were doing this, it was something I was on board with right away.” Finnegan added, “Just to hear some of the patients say it was one of the greatest days of their lives that we can just come in and give back to them is a privilege. They’re all battling something such as cancer so the chance that we have to come in here and put a smile on their face and give them some goodies … it means the world, and it’s humbling at the same time.” The patients were given Susan G. Komen Comfort Kits that contained a journal, pink comfort pillow and blanket, Miami Dolphins aqua T-shirt, Dolphins tumbler cup, Baptist Health South Florida pink eyeblack and the NFL’s A Crucial Catch pink ribbon. The visit comes prior to the Dolphins home game this Sunday against the Packers. The theme is Breast Cancer Awareness, with Susan G. Komen serving as the official charity. Hickey concluded the day by saying, “It’s such a blessing to see the athletes and the cheerleaders be involved on and off the field, and we’re just very appreciative of the community and wanting to be a part of it.” Comments are closed.
