Fins Weekend presented by Estrella Insurance started on Friday with fun-filled events and activities geared towards making an impact throughout the community. Proceeds from the event, through the educational pillar of Miami Dolphins Foundation, will benefit City Year Miami, an education-focused nonprofit organization that partners with public schools to help keep students on track to graduate. In 2015, the foundation will sponsor City Year programs at Miami Carol City and Miami Norland Senior High Schools.
On Friday, Dolphins players and alumni hit the links at Trump National Doral Golf Club’s Red Course and Golden Palm Course at the Fins Weekend Golf Tournament presented by Waste Management. First place on the Red Course went to the team of Waste Management (Mike Babchick, Chuck Emerson, Joe Guttoso, Jordan Kovacs) who shot 22-under, winning on a card match off on the fifth hole. Bosch (Boris Sparfel, Ronan Kreman, Raymond Carrozza, Brice McCain) won the Golden Palm Course with a score of 19-under. “Today was a very successful event with 43 teams participating and raising money to provide support for City Year Miami and the great work they do in our community.” said Nat Moore, Miami Dolphins Senior Vice President. After the tournament participants took part in the popular Hook & Tackle Captain’s Party presented by South Florida Ford at the Miami Beach Marina. Events continued on Saturday with the Fins Weekend Fishing Tournament, Weigh-in presented by Hooters and Fishing Awards Ceremony and Live Auction presented by Simrad. 2015 Fins Weekend Golf Tournament Presented by Waste Management Red Course
