The Miami Dolphins will meet with Wake Forest cornerback Kevin Johnson as part of their pre-draft process. This news comes courtesy of Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. According to Gabriel Burns (Twitter: @SoHotItGBURNS), an analyst for the PhinManiacs Draft Guide, Johnson is arguably the best cornerback prospect in this class. He has excellent cover coverage skills and projects as a starting outside corner in the NFL. Johnson, a smooth athlete that can play anywhere on the field, shows outstanding ability to adjust to the ball. However, his weaknesses may take him off of some team's draft board. He is very thin and his size will scare some teams off. He won't provide much run support and is easily blocked when chasing the ball carrier. While aggression can be a good thing, it seems to hurt Johnson more than it helps him at times throughout the game. With that in mind, his potential makes him one of the top three cornerbacks in the draft, according to Burns. Like all of the draft analysts are projecting, Burns believes that he is worthy of a first round selection. This story was written by Matthew Cannata.
