PhinManiacs own Luis D. Sung, who is reporting from the Fins Weekend charity event this weekend, broke some interesting news this morning. Miami Dolphins general manager Dennis Hickey said that Billy Turner will open Offseason Training Activities (OTAs) at the right guard position with Dallas Thomas getting the nod at left guard.
While Turner and Thomas will open OTAs in those spots, it is expected that rookie Jamil Douglas (6’-4”, 304 lbs) will compete for the left guard position. Should he improve in his pass protection, he has a real chance of unseating Thomas before the 2015 regular season begins. In addition, don't count out a veteran offensive lineman being added to the mix if the Dolphins don't feel comfortable with any of these players. Be sure to follow Luis this weekend, as he will be covering Fins Weekend events on Friday and Saturday. Pablo Gomez (@PabloGRadio) joins him on Saturday morning.
