![]() The Miami Dolphins announced the team has signed wide receiver Matt Hazel off the team’s practice squad. To make room on the roster for Hazel, the team waived linebacker Jake Knott. The 5-10, 210-pound Hazel was the Dolphins sixth round selection (190th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft. Hazel has been a member of the Miami practice squad for the entire 2014 season after being released following training camp on August 30, 2014. It is not known if Hazel will be active for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings. It's possible another team tried to claim Hazel. When that happens, the team that own's the players' rights has the option to either promote them to the active roster or lose them to that team. By rule, Hazel will need to stay on the Dolphins' active roster for a minimum of three weeks or be released onto waivers. This means that he will be on the 53-man roster for the remainder of the 2014 season. This story was written by Matthew Cannata. Follow him on Twitter: @PhinManiacs.
