![]() Written by Matthew Cannata | Twitter: @PhinManiacs At the annual Kickoff Luncheon held earlier today, several members of the Miami Dolphins spoke of hope and optimism heading into the 2014 season. While this is a common theme every year at this event, there is some real promise and excitement happening across the world amongst Dolphins fans. "We have the best roster that we've had in the three years I've been here," said Joe Philbin. “It’s exciting,” said rookie wide receiver Jarvis Landry. “It’s exciting to see the people that have this thing running, have the opportunity to come out and have lunch with my teammates and the people of South Florida. (Fan support) means everything. It means everything to know that we have the backing. It means everything to know that all our hard work doesn’t go unnoticed as a team. We’re trying to accomplish something here in Miami, to bring back a championship.” General Manager Dennis Hickey echoed the sentiments of Philbin and Landry. “I see this as a great opportunity seeing all the great Dophins fans representing our colors wearing our colors to have an opportunity to sit and get to know our players,” Hickey said. “You’re going to get a glimpse of what we see very day. Obviously, they’re quality players, but they’re quality people that we see every day and we’re so proud to have on our team.” While speaking about how talented the team is and how excited they are, only real way to win the fans over is to win football games on the field. We'll see if this year's team can do just that beginning September 7 against the New England Patriots.
