The Miami Dolphins are hosting free agent running back Stevan Ridley throughout the day on Tuesday. This news comes courtesy of Greg Likens of The Finsiders. Ridley, who was drafted in the third round out of LSU by the New England Patriots in 2011, has rushed for 2,817 yards in 649 attempts in his career. He has 22 touchdowns - all of them on the ground. The numbers are a bit skewed because the Patriots have always relied on either two or three running backs to carry the load throughout each game. Since arriving in New England, Ridley has missed 12 games, with 10 of them coming last season due to torn ACL/MCL, which landed him on injured reserve. In 2013, he also battled a knee injury, which caused him to miss two games. The Dolphins have been keeping tabs on Knowshon Moreno and now, they are doing their work on other free agent running backs on the market. It will be interesting to see if the Dolphins sign Ridley before the draft or if they wait to see how the draft plays out before making a move. This story was written by Matthew Cannata.
