A man is claiming that Dolphins center Mike Pouncey and his brother, Maurkice Pouncey of the Pittsburgh Steelers, assaulted him on Friday evening at the Cameo Night Club in Miami.
The Pouncey brothers were holding their annual birthday bash at the club. This was the same spot where they wore their "Free Hernandez" hats last year, which also got them into hot water with their respective teams, media and fans.
Early this morning at 4:53 a.m. a man named Ricky Vasquez took to Twitter and tweeted that he got jumped by four bouncers and the Pouncey Twins. He said his face was swollen and that he was going to be pressing charges. Apparently, his tooth was chipped as well.
Vasquez said that he was standing in a crowded club and a big guy kept hitting him in the back. After ignoring it for several minutes and continuously being hit, Vasquez turned around and realized there were two of them and then one of his friends named Honey tried to break it up. Next thing you know, there was a fight, chaos ensued and security comes.
Honey took the Twitter and said she went inside Cameo for ten minutes and was then punched by Marukice Pouncey for trying to break up the fight. She filed a report with the police but the police told her that more than likely, nothing will be done.
"There was an incident that occurred at Cameo last night at 4:20 a.m., where an alleged assault took place, Miami Beach Police Sgt. Bobby Hernandez tells New Times."We have not confirmed it's the Pouncey brothers that are the subjects, but we are going to have detectives contacting the victims to investigate further."
Mike Pouncey has struggled to stay out of the news and it's for all the wrong reasons. After the hat incident last year, he was in the middle of the bullying controversy. Then, he was subpoenaed for the Hernandez case in Massachusetts. Several weeks ago, we found out he had an injury and was going to miss at least three to four weeks. Now, this news comes out. Of course, there are always two sides to the story but the bottom line is that he is in the news again for the wrong reasons and in a contract year, it's probably not the best time to be making headlines.
